Dr. Chaithanya pursues two of her passions simultaneously : An Ayurvedic physician and a Bharatanatyam dancer. She started her dance training at the age of 4 and considers herself as a student as well as a performer. She is attempting to find common ground between Ayurveda and Bharatanatyam, her deeper areas of interest include Manuscriptology and dance movement therapy apart from clinics and research. Here is the summary of our conversation with Dr. Chaithanya.

  1. I hated sundays. I hated going for dance classes on Sundays.
  2. Everybody around me had been super supportive.
  3. I chose to be a Physician and Dancer, when I realised its importance. These situations helped me realise what I wanted to do in life.
  4. When I am among performers they call me a doctor and when I am among doctors, they call me a dancer.
  5. My mother inspired me a lot. She is a fighter.
  6. I have had lots of failures. I had been depressed thinking about neither being a dancer nor being a doctor.
  7. Loose yourselves, that gives lots of power for the self.
  8. Never say NO to new opportunities.
  9. Never step back from taking challenges.
  10. My teacher said, “Do blunders. Be a student always, stay crazy”.
  11. Be the way you want to be.
  12. Being a doctor and being a dancer complements each other. Like the two sides of the same coin.
